Application Engineer (m/f) for Ceramic Powertrain Components Job Description

We are looking for a capable Application Engineer (m/f) for Ceramic Powertrain Components with focus on Sensor Control to support our engineering team in Wegberg, near Aachen.
You will be be the engineering interface between our development team based in Wegberg and our Japanese headquarters as well as our European customers. You are responsible for the competent technical consulting regarding relevant new technologies as well as for the development and application of ceramic and after-treatment system and components from concept phase to series production maturity. In your daily work you will closely collaborate with our core development teams in Japan and Europe.

What you'll do

• Provide technical support on current projects in a multi-cultural global team with main focus on electronic control and sensor functionality
• Establish future specifications of ceramic components considering our customers’ future demands and system trends
• Analyze our customers' technical needs and develop proposals outlining how DENSO's products and services can meet these needs
• Prepare and coordinate component and vehicle tests in close cooperation with our testing department
• Manage technical sign-off for projects according to DENSO Quality Management system in cooperation with the customer as well as internal departments
• Develop and maintain technical reports, documentation and manuals concerning electronic control of components
• Prepare and conduct customer presentations
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and provide market information about technical trends

Application Engineer (m/f) for Ceramic Powertrain Components Job Requirements

What you'll need

• University degree in automotive or electronic/electrical engineering or a comparable education
• Passion for technical products (especially in regards to ceramic components is an advantage)
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Profound knowledge of electronics, electronic interfaces and testing of these
• First experience in regards to digital communications (e.g. CAN, SENT) and tools (e.g. CANoe/CANalyser, ETAS)
• Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and testing
• Knowledge concerning electronic circuits as well as software and software development
• Ability to work both independently and in teams using a structured, analytical approach and showing a high quality orientation, combined with a proactive attitude, flexibility and good judgement ability
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Fluent English skills are required (business language is English)
