At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. They use the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments to study the basic constituents of matter, the fundamental particles. The particles are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives the physicists clues about how the particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
The LHCb experiment at CERN will host most of its readout electronics and all its IT infrastructure in a brand-new data-center, which will be at the core of LHCb's data acquisition and control systems. This facility will operate 24/7 to serve the needs of one of the largest, most active scientific collaborations in the world.
As a system administrator, you will join a small dynamic team of system administrators and engineers. You will take an important part in the installation and commissioning of LHCb's computing hardware in a new 3.5 MW data-center. Main activities will include:
Technical certificate or general secondary education in the field of information technologies, or a related field.
