Its core competence is the development and implementation of lightweight solutions for the international automotive industry [OEM / TIER-1]. The main products manufactured here are body parts made of steel and aluminium for cars and trucks. The Business unit operates at the location in the region of Utrecht/NL with more than 1,000 highly qualified employees both as the Center of Competence for Body Panels & Aftermarket Solutions as well as production location and achieves an annual turnover of around € 170 million. Technical leadership, highest quality standards and a strong corporate culture are the guarantors of international success. Due to its forward-looking growth strategy, our client wants to develop its sales department with a sales-strong Key Account Manager, experienced in the automotive business, who plays a key role in the further development of the business.

    Objectives of the positions:
    The overall responsibility for the care, maintenance and strategic business development lies with the customers of the existing customer base. To this end, Senior Key Account Manager undertakes the proactive research of the customer's project plans and, together with the manager of the Business Segment Series, defines new market potentials, which he systematically exploits. Furthermore, he is responsible for the acquisition of new customers
    and the establishment of long-term relationships with decision-makers in the various hierarchy levels at the customer.

    Your key responsibilities:

    • Acquiring new customers/requests (RFQ's) and managing customers relationships
    • Analyzing and examining trends derived from the market and competition monitoring into product requirements, align with product management, and incorporate them into new product development
    • Proactive research to overview the customer's project plans
    • Acquiring new project contracts, negotiate and conclude (annual) prices in coordination with management
    • Creating and maintaining relationship networks in the Automotive industry at all levels
    • Financial and operational monitoring of existing orders and periodic implementation of price adjustments (lifecycle management)
    • Requesting and supervising (internal) calculations and project plans from the departments involved
    • Collaboration in project management and responsible management of subprojects
    • Organizing, participating and leading multidisciplinary offering teams

    Key Account Manager Automotive (m/f) Job Requirements

    Your skills & core competencies:

    • Degree in Economics or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a comparable qualification
    • Professional experience as a sales engineer and / or KAM, if possible in the automotive industry
    • Good business and commercial knowledge as well as profound technical understanding
    • Knowledge in forming technology (sheet metal forming) as well as in manufacturing processes and production technologies
    • Sound industry knowledge and a personal relationship network in the automotive business
    • Good knowledge of MS Office, an ERP and CRM system
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English – knowledge of the Dutch language or the willingness to learn this language (with the support of the company) is an advantage
    • Reliable, knowing the details to achieve high customer satisfaction
