Manager Manufacturing & Process Engineering Job Description

Vistaprint is hiring a: Manager Manufacturing & Process Engineering  

As Manager Manufacturing & Process Engineering you will lead a group of 4 Manufacturing Engineers and you are responsible for hands-on Process Engineering. The Manager Manufacturing & Process Engineering will be leading challenging new product platform & new functionality deployment projects. You and your team will interact closely with (international) production & manufacturing teams in our Venlo facility. You report directly into the Director Manufacturing & Supply Chain Capabilities (MSC). The total Venlo MSC team consists of 16 Professionals.  

Your role will involve:

• Plan, coordinate and facilitate the Manufacturing Engineering team activities in a structured manner;
• Concept, detail and realization planning of new production lines and new equipment processes in the production facility;
• Development of value stream maps, time studies, detailed area layouts;
• Responsible for reorganizing and restructuring of existing production equipment, processes, material flows;
• Support the production lines and take co-ownership for new product introductions and future improvements;
• Co-operate with teams from other manufacturing sites (Canada, Australia and Switzerland) to exchange best practices and solutions;
• Coach team members and develop the team results to world class level;
• The linking pin between the continuous improvement team and value stream managers;
• Optimize manpower and equipment utilization using tools like standardized work sheets, balancing & leveling;

Manager Manufacturing & Process Engineering Job Requirements

In return you will bring:  

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical/Industrial or Mechatronics;
• Excellent Six Sigma (Black Belt) leadership skills and best practice cases to support this;
• Thorough experience in LEAN transformations in a manufacturing environment;
• Hands-on experience in leading Kaizen events is a plus;
• At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience in a World Class LEAN Manufacturing environment;
• Excellent people and project management skills;
• Excellent communication skills.
• Result and fact driven, decisive making skills;
