As a manager for Hydrotech process group you will join a team focusing on developing new applications for Hydrotech products as well as assisting the sales team with process design and more generally process support in order to sell Hydrotech products both to VWS local business units as well as to Hydrotech’s external distributors.
The process team main tasks are performing jar-tests, pilot tests and full-scale tests to optimize the use of Hydrotech products for different applications, demonstrate the process efficiency to potential clients, as well as produce design guidelines based on the results of these tests. The team is also in charge of providing process support to the sales team in the form of process design and evaluation of guarantees. Finally the team is focusing on developing new applications for the products, either by applying some changes in the product itself or by combining it with other processes. The process manager will therefore be in charge of organizing the work for the process team, and will be expected to directly take part in the different activities. The process manager will also have a direct influence on the type of process development activities that Hydrotech should focus on each year.
The role of process manager also includes working in close relation with the other VWS business units, as well with universities and wastewater treatment plants in the area.
Main duties as process manager:
- Managing the process team (4 people so far): staff management with responsibility for the application R&D budget
- Providing sales support to the sales team in terms of design: validation of process design, evaluation of process guarantees and/or process risks.
- Providing sales support to the sales team in terms of marketing and communication: preparation of technical presentations, support in preparing technical marketing material
- Management of development activities: process development, application development, media development as well as process control and automation development
- In charge of relations with other VWS business units, Technical department and universities regarding process questions and developments
- In charge of managing the tests (pilot tests, jar-tests) needed for process development and demonstration
- Responsible for the production of technical notes, design guidelines
- In charge of helping with process start-up and trouble-shooting on full-scale treatment plants
Process Manager-26578 Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor degree required, Master degree preferred, within the fields of environmental engineering or chemical engineering.
- Minimum five to eight years of experience is required in the field of water/wastewater treatment processes.
- Experience in leading or participating in research/and or development activities.
- Fluent in English, Swedish preferred but not obligatory.
Meritorious - Experience with managing a team of process or R&D engineers.
- Experience from external contacts e g with customerS
- Other languages beside English and Swedish.
Skills - Strong interpersonal skills required: good ability to cooperate both with colleagues from the different VWS subsidiaries as well as with clients
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to manage and influence development activities
You need to have the ability to travel. You will travel together with Hydrotech sales engineers to visit VWS colleagues or potential clients when a detailed process presentation is needed. You also need to travel to visit Hydrotech’s test sites. In total approx. 20-40 travelling days a year.
