At Abbott Medical Optics (AMO) we currently have a vacancy for a Supplier Quality Assurance Program Engineer and this role will involve the following:  

Primary Job Function

• Provide QA technical and compliance expertise as part of development teams in establishing and assuring product quality objectives.
• Assure compliance to applicable regulations.
• Perform quality activities such as audits, procedure development, product release, documentation review and define changes to controlled documents.
• Provides QA technical and compliance support for exiting products and manufacturing sites related to suppliers, corrective and preventive actions, product/process improvements and training.  

• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures
• Must be able to travel internationally.
• Plans, executes, reports and follows-up on quality system audits
• Monitors compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
• Makes decisions that are aligned with management objectives regarding work processes, plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives
• Tracks and reports progress across projects and departmental commitments by reviewing schedules and due dates, identifying risks, and assisting teams with contingency plans
• Resolves project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate
• Assists department and project leaders in developing and reporting appropriate performance and quality metrics 

Supplier QA Programme Engineer-13000000BA Job Requirements

Education Requirements:  

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related science/technical field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.  

Skills/ Experience:  

• At least five years in Quality Assurance or another function in the pharmaceutical, medical device, nutritional or related industry experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Systems and Regulations.

• Auditor certification from an industry recognized organisation desired

• One or two years in Compliance or Regulatory Affairs are desirable.

• Capable of understanding and overcoming different cultural and language obstacles to provide solutions that satisfy corporate, regional, and local objectives.

• Capable of analyzing data in order to support the development of strategies to effectively manage the action plans that will resolve the issues.

• Personal skills needed include tact, open-mindedness, maturity, tenacity, decisiveness, self-reliance and sound judgment. Persuasive, effective communication skills are essential with an ability to work effectively across businesses and technical areas. Individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
