Procurement Quality Engineer- Torquay Job Description
Our manufacturing facility in Torquay is home to a number of our brands, from advanced temperature and pressure measurement through to embedded control software or specific vertical industries – our brands provide custom-developed products delivering the monitoring and control our customers need. As an Engineer you will support the Procurement Operations to support the development and selection of the supply base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The Resolution and Prevention and of Supplier Quality Issues
- Supplier Development and Assessments
- Piece Part Approval Process
- Monitoring supplier performance ratings and awards
Procurement Quality Engineer- Torquay Job Requirements
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) or a related discipline.
- Experience in supplier quality performance measurement and auditing required. A qualified lead assessor for ISO9000 and /or TS16949 audit qualification is essential.
- Competent in the timely resolution of supplier quality issues by driving root cause analysis through the use of processes such as 8D.
- Proven experience in developing improvement plans to drive long term supplier performance improvement. Understand project and customer contract requirements and ensure necessary flow down to suppliers for compliance.
- Commodity Knowledge – Raw Materials and mechanical, electrical and electronics
- Self-motivated with strong analytical ability and communication skills and is able to travel extensively within the UK and abroad.
