Approvals Engineer – Tunisia Job Description

Elektron Technology has UK and International manufacturing operations, one of which is located in Tunisia.  As part of our continued business transformation programme, we are seeking to recruit an Approvals Engineer who will be responsible for managing the Safety Approval process for all Elektron products manufactured within our Tunisian plant. Responsibilities:

• Manage, upgrade and maintain UL/CSA/ENEC/VDE self-certification laboratory and equipment.
• Manage and undertake safety approval testing for connector and switch product lines to regulatory sampling requirements and ad hoc requests.
• Maintain product self-certification regulatory results, records and database, to ensure they are current and up to date.
• Communicate and liaise with key other departments, e.g.  Technology, Operations and Purchasing, to ensure test results are acted upon in a timely manner.

Approvals Engineer – Tunisia Job Requirements

Person Specification: Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of standards relevant to switches and/or connectors, e.g. UL1054
• Knowledge of tests relevant to switches and/or connectors
• Experience working with safety agencies: UL, CSA, VDE and CQC
• Good organisational skills, able to co-ordinate various stakeholders into unified approach
• Self-managing and driven to get the results needed
• Flexibility in tasks undertaken with good communication and teamwork

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics or equivalent
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
