Role and responsibilities

You will be a developer within SDL CMT’s mobile team. This successful team designs, develops, tests and maintains our innovative SDT CMT mobile delivery solution.

Your key responsibilities will include the architectural design and development of the mobile delivery platform. As an advocate of agile development methodologies, you will also be required to embrace cross-disciplinary responsibilities for delivering new features.

Your responsibilities will include:  

• The design, build, integration and testing of new product features;
• The support and maintenance of existing product features; 
• Performing as part of a self-organising, distributed development team; 
• Participating in regular collaborative feedback sessions; 
• Creating, refining, estimating and prioritizing product features and tasks; 
• Establishing the goals for delivering each set of features;  
• The continual inspection and adaptation of how and what is delivered.

Software Developer / Software Engineer Job Requirements

Skills, experience and personality

The successful candidate will possess broad and deep technical skills, with an emphasis on Java and related delivery technologies.

This development role requires:  

• An organized and collaborative approach to delivering features; 
• Fast, efficient and transparent communication skills; 
• An individual that is flexible, enthusiastic, focused and committed;

• Java development (Java 6+) and Java application frameworks (e.g. Spring); 
• Java web application frameworks (e.g. Grails, Spring MVC); 
• Microsoft C# development; 
• Microsoft web application frameworks (ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC4); 
• Application servers (Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere or WebLogic);
• Dynamic scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Rhino, Groovy); 
• Web authoring technologies (HTML, CSS); 
• Web service technologies (e.g. AJAX, JSON, REST, XML); 
• Web templating technologies (e.g. Razor, Freemarker, Velocity, XSD, XSLT); 
• SQL on either Oracle or SQL Server and related technologies (e.g. JDBC, Hibernate, GORM, JPA); 
• Windows and Unix operating environments;
• and Configuration and source code management tools (e.g. TFS, GIT, JIRA).

• Are familiar with agile development practices;
• and Possess a Software Engineering degree or equivalent.
