Electric Power Engineer (Stord â€“ NO) Job Description

Our Power Drives team at Stord delivers a range of high power, high technology frequency converter solutions for the oil & gas and maritime market. The Product Management team within Power Drives is responsible for maintaining and industrialising the in-house designed frequency converters in Wärtsilä. We are now looking for a dedicated Electrical Engineer with knowledge from the field of frequency converters. The position involves some travelling. Needed training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Develop, industrialise and maintain high power electronics components used in Wärtsiläs power drives
Product and project engineering, documentation and follow up
Quality control, test planning and testing
Supplier management / component qualification
Industrialisation of products / solutions
Continuous improvement of the product and product knowledge inside Wärtsilä

Electric Power Engineer (Stord â€“ NO) Job Requirements

Requirements

MSc or BSc within electric power, power electronics, physics, electrical rotating equipment and/or frequency controlled motor drivers
Experience/knowhow within one or more of the following areas will be considered an advantage:

- PWM Frequency converters or other electric switchboards
- PLC programming
- Electrical motor control

Fluent command of English, both oral and written; command of Norwegian will be considered a merit
