Role Summary/Purpose

The Operational Project & Management Intern is a 12 month internship looking to start in the summer. Working closely with all parts of the Dartford Repair Centre and Global On-Site services (OSS), the intern will learn about the full operational process across the Dartford business. In addition to gaining exposure to the daily, weekly and quarterly operating rhythm of a global business, you will also gain exposure to workforce management, finance and commercial processes needed to support the On-Site Services Team:

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager in managing all key communications to On-Site personnel 
• Assisting the OSS EHS Manager in ensuring timely completion of training 
• Work with the Optimisation team to track and monitor site outages, with respect to start dates, completion dates and expected durations. 
• Assist the OSS Repairs Leader in the generation of repair documents to support site outages 
• Support OSS Finance team in the monthly and quarterly closing activities 
• Assist in maintaining all On-Site records and documentation, in line with GE Quality Management System 
• With support from the local team, write new repair method statements as required 
• Suggest and implement new improved visual management aids for OSS 
• Review current operations processes and identify process improvement opportunities 
• Help lead and support process improvement projects 
• General AD HOC queries/projects.

Qualifications/Requirements 

• Candidates in 2nd/3rd year of a degree course in Business, electrical or mechanical Engineering or Quality/Lean Manufacturing 
• Fluency in spoken and written English 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Enthusiasm, imagination, team player 
• Computers skills (Excel, Word, Power-Point).
