Position Installation Engineer Offshore Education HBO (Bsc) - TU (MSc) Category Offshore Department Location Rotterdam, The Netherlands Jumbo Offshore’s core business is the installation of subsea structures, mooring systems for FPSO’s and offloading buoys and smaller jackets and topsides. With access to 10 plus 2 DP2 Heavy Lift Vessels Jumbo offers a specific benefit: the combined transportation and installation of offshore structures. The DP2-HLV’s Jumbo Javelin and Fairplayer are used for subsea installation work, e.g. templates, manifolds, driven pile and suction pile mooring systems. They are also used for installing transition pieces for offshore wind farms.
The Engineering Department within Jumbo Offshore consists out of an energetic and enthusiastic group of Engineers and Draftsmen. Together with coworkers from Project Management you will, as a team, be responsible to bring your project to a successful conclusion.
THE JOB
- responsible for the performance of installation engineering; work method determination, deck lay out set up, installation calculations (stability, strength etc.);
- prepare the installation (work) procedures based upon the mentioned analysis;
- solve problems and come up with creative ideas to reach the goals set;
- liaise with the clients on technical issues and liaise with the Operations Department and vessel marine crew on operational issues;
- support the vessel during the vessel mobilization, demobilization and offshore project execution.
Installation Engineer Offshore Job Requirements
THE PROFILE
- Bsc. or Msc. degree (i.e. Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Naval Architecture);
- 2-5 years (applicable) experience in marine industry, preferably in sub sea construction;
- general knowledge of the offshore industry, basic knowledge of rules & regulations applicable to offshore transportation & installation works;
- basic knowledge of marine engineering, structural engineering, vessel dynamics and sub sea installation engineering;
- basic knowledge of AutoCAD;
- Fluent English and Dutch both verbal and writing;
- knowledge of Orca Flex and Naval Architecture skills would be an advantage. Also practical experience on board installation vessels during offshore project execution is preferred.
