VDL ETG Technology & Development is the development organization of VDL ETG responsible for developing high-tech mechatronic (sub) systems and the further optimization of the production processes.
To expand and strengthen our team, VDL ETG Technology & Development is looking for a:

Lead Mechanical Designer 

Your tasks as a Lead Mechanical Designer:
 

• Take responsibility for the mechanical design of high-end precision mechanical and mechatronic modules, as (lead) mechanical designer and member of a multidisciplinary development team.
• Support specification of a module and its components, architectural design and trade-offs between mechanical, electronic, software competencies.
• Lead the mechanical designers and engineers in the multidisciplinary project team.
• Contribute specialist knowledge in one or more mechanical engineering fields, such as mechanical design (incl. design principles, FAE),, DfX (manufacturability, cost of ownership, six sigma), precision mechanics, tribology, particle and molecular contamination, vacuum systems, ,etc.
• Specify and outsource specific development and engineering activities to engineering service providers.
• Document specifications, concepts, designs and test analysis results.

Lead Mechanical Designer Job Requirements

Your profile

• 5 to 10 years in design of precision mechanical and/or mechatronic equipment and/or products, in multidisciplinary development teams
• Proficient user or 3D CAD tooling
• Technical University Master in Mechanical Engineering
• Team player, analytical, pragmatic, creative
• Proven lean leading capability
• Good communication skills and proficient in English and preferred Dutch
