Technical Buyer Job Description

Vernay is seeking a Technical Buyer. You are responsible for development and management of suppliers (of components and technical services) for Vernay Europa B.V.. You will support global purchasing with as purpose a competitive supplier base aligned to Vernay requirements in terms of safety, quality, delivery performance, costs according to strategic program. This role will be located at our production plant in Oldenzaal, The Netherlands.

• Selection, development and evaluation of (international) suppliers in accordance with ISO/TS- 16949 or VDA 6.3. Making and carrying out an annual Supplier Audit Plan
• Supplier selection & inquire process management based on analysis of technical specifications (technical drawings etc.)
• Project purchasing for new products that are being developed
• Ensure the procurement process in accordance with the applicable quality system
• Negotiating, managing and filing of agreed prices, delivery periods, terms of payment and other conditions
• Continuously achieving cost savings, based on Total Cost
• Assessing and releasing PPAP package of suppliers, including executing supplier process audits
• Supporting Quality and Operations functions in case of deviations on supplied materials
• Managing of implementing engineering changes on purchase components

Technical Buyer Job Requirements

• Education on Bachelor degree (HBO / Mechanical Engineering - Chemical), with relevant Purchasing education
• At least 3 years of experience in Purchasing in an international work environment, preferably in the automotive supply industry. Affinity with production techniques, quality management, statistical process control and measurement techniques
• Languages: English and German
