Productmanager service Job Description
As Product Manager Service you will be responsible for the serviceability of our products. This can vary from design-for-service to controlled phasing out depending on the life-cycle phase of the product. You will work closely with the R&D department and the global service organisation. You will enjoy a high degree of freedom and will work mainly at the tactical and strategic level.You will be responsible for the following tasks:
- You will bring the products and services to a higher level by managing all aspects of service. For example, design-for-service, developing the service organisation for successful product introduction, competence management, upgradeability and product life-cycle policies (End of Sales, End of Technical Support)
- You will evaluate both customer experience and service organisation experience, and ensure that this feedback is passed on to the product development teams. Where needed, you will initiate improvement programmes to enhance products (in the field).
- You will identify opportunities for product upgrades (in the field). You will also develop standard upgrade packages and set up sales programmes for them.
- You will have a clear vision of the long term needs of the end customers (internal and external) in terms of service and life-cycle planning. You will follow market developments within the service sector and translate these into ongoing product improvements.
- You will be the contact person for service-related questions about your product portfolio, and you will be the central contact point between the various departments.
Service now accounts for more than 20% of total sales and this percentage is growing steadily. Life-cycle Management is a central department which supports the organisation's worldwide sales offices helping them to realise growth. This support includes improving of the serviceability of the products.
Productmanager service Job Requirements
In order to be successful as Product Manager Service, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- A university degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a service department in a technical organisation
- Experience in product management and an R&D environment is a prerequisite
- •Good stakeholder management skills and commercially minded
- Good command of English
