ICL-IP Europe B.V. is looking for a:

Technical Manager Europe with commercial attitude

Scope:
The primary focus of this position is to provide the organisation with technical knowledge and expertise. You introduce new products to your customers and give technical advice on products to potential customers. This position is the linking–pin between customers and the sales & marketing organisation and distributors regarding all related technical matters. Your expertise and know-how is an important aspect in the process of acquiring new clients, therefore a commercial attitude is welcome. The individual will develop an in-depth knowledge of products and markets and will build long-term relationships with customers and other relevant parties.

The Technical manager will work in a team with the FR Sales Managers throughout Europe, and will be participating in the bi-monthly meetings. The employee will work from home office, and will report to the European Business Director Flame Retardants. The Technical Manager is also part of the global technical team with colleagues in e.g. the US and Israel.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Provide technical support to the Sales Managers and Distributors in Europe.
• Develop, maintain and expand (technical) relationships with customers.
• Answer/solve technical questions/problems from/at customers.
• Coordinate customer sampling and do follow-up on samples.
• Be the technical interface between customers and the technical colleagues in Israel and USA.
• Collect technical market information and share with internal customers.
• Take seat in standards committees to defend the interests of the company.
• Assist in the marketing and promotion of FR products in Europe.
• Prepare & give presentations at conferences.
• Responsible for the handling and follow-up of customer complaints in compliance with our Quality Management System (QMS).

Technical Manager Europe with commercial attitude Job Requirements

Experience/Skills Required:

• University degree in polymer chemistry, preferably PhD.
• Several years of relevant experience in comparable technical positions, preferably in an international environment.
• Preferably specific experience in both Polyurethane foams, Polystyrene foams as well as Thermoplastics.
• Fluent in English and preferably German.
• Pro-active, self-starter, hands-on personality with excellent communication skills.
• Willing to travel across Europe frequently (30%).
