GNSS R&D Engineer Job Description

The person will be responsible for developing new and enhancing existing software for the Trimble RTX user receiver solutions for different markets. Success in this position involves working effectively in the development team with other experts, and demonstrating a set of fundamental software engineering skills that result in predictability in engineering, scheduling and the quality of products developed. The person will join the Trimble development team in Höhenkirchen/Munich, Germany. Höhenkirchen is Trimble’s center of excellence for GNSS precise positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be responsible for research and development towards a robust and reliable software solution for the RTX user receiver software and firmware to be used in different markets like Geospatial, Agriculture, Machine control and Automotive. 

• Writing, editing, and revising detailed technical design documents to accurately describe the technical details of the components to be developed;
• Explain and document major design decisions and their rationales to technical and non-technical audiences;
• Being able to work effectively as part of a development team with minimal supervision; and all other software development tasks as assigned.​

GNSS R&D Engineer Job Requirements

Skills & Experience Required:

• Excellent English language proficiency
• Excellent experience in C++, Matlab is desired.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Readiness for cross-team collaboration with other Trimble software engineering teams and partner teams;
• Ability to adapt well to changing priorities in a fast-paced development environment.
• University degree with focus on software development.
