Embedded Software Engineer Job Description

The Function:
The Embedded software engineer designs, develops, debugs and modifies embedded software and accompanying tools. The Engineer designs software by analyzing the requirements for an embedded system and determines which requirements have a software component. The engineer transfers these requirements into a specification that serves as the master development document throughout the product development. This software specification is translated into software functions which are written by the engineer. The Embedded software engineer tests and verifies the functions and works with other engineering disciplines, electrical and mechanical, to ensure that the embedded software will accomplish the design goals for a particular product or system. Where necessary, software will be developed to verify the embedded software.
You will perform this function after a solid training of the PBF Group products and procedures.

Embedded Software Engineer Job Requirements

We ask for:

• The Embedded software engineering position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, such as computer engineering or electrical engineering, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in writing embedded software.
• A mix of hardware and software knowledge is desirable. A good blend of courses will include digital electronics courses from an electrical engineering department and software engineering courses from a computer science department.
• A strong affinity with power electronics and digital control loops using DSP processors is required. You have experience using measurement equipment.
• You need to be fluent in English both written and verbal. German is a pre.
• We are looking for a flexible and creative individual who is able to communicate, to meet deadlines and can handle the occasional stress.
