Manager Manufacturing & Process Job Description

What will you do as Manager Manufacturing & Process?
As Manager Manufacturing & Process you are able to think outside of the box, think big and go beyond traditional methodologies. Your goal is to deliver a perfectly working process line which is seen as leading in the world of small series production. You will inspire, motivate and build a strong and healthy team to achieve the goals that are set in close collaboration with the VP Operations. Your job will focus but is not limited to:

• Effectively support all manufacturing processes and work with different stakeholders to design and implement new processes and equipment
• Leading a team of about 3 FTE and in the future building the team further to meet the demand
• Investigating and coming up with feasible options that enable us to integrate smart, new techniques and intelligence into the process line
• Develop, together with your team,  the process line (for example further define layout planning) in order to get the first series production cars out of the factory in 2020
• Responsible for delivering the process line within budget inclusive detailed reporting
• Create and manage a close working relationship with the Prototype Shop Manager in order to solve complex issues (troubleshooting) to further improve series production 
• In collaboration with the Production Manager improve efficiency, quality, and safety of the process line
• Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics and write and report to the VP Operations in all matters of importance
• Responsible for the level of expertise in your team, ensure it is well experienced but balanced and develop these skills looking towards the future
• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to achieve the targets for series production
• Participate  in business case studies for producing larger series

Manager Manufacturing & Process Job Requirements

What do we expect from a Manager Manufacturing & Process at Lightyear?

You have excellent communication skills, you are a self starter with a ‘can do’ mentality. You can create and build from scratch, you are committed, quality minded, a team player, flexible, stress resilient and of course a fast learner. Furthermore you'll bring:

• A Bachelor or Master degree in a technical direction, for example Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role, for example in aerospace, automotive engineering (low volume production)
• Knowledge on P-FMEA, MSA and Value Stream Mapping is required
• Good understanding of different production techniques such as glueing, riveting and different fastening techniques
• Experience with manual operations in combination with automated operations 
• Affinity with Manufacturing 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT)
• Knowledge of Catia is seen as a plus
• Knowledge of ERP Infor is seen as a plus
• You speak English and Dutch fluently. Knowledge of the German language is seen as a plus
• Availability for 40 hours per week
