    Role Summary/Purpose

    The Avionics Cell carries out the final assembly and release of a range of avionic products, including displays and aircraft computing equipment, used on a variety of Military and Civil platforms. This internship is to assist in the daily running of the Cell, driving quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. Delivering all parts within the cell in line with the manufacturing plan and business objectives. Build an effective and solid communication channel with the Cell leadership.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Develop and lead implementation of improvement initiatives around process capability and efficiency 
    • Perform root cause corrective action analysis and embed solutions when problems occur 
    • Develop a sound working knowledge of the operation of the processes and equipment within the Avionics Cell 
    • Ensure all training needs are met and develop a training matrix in line with business and cell requirements 
    • Ensure a financial and operational understanding of the Avionics Cell 
    • Co-ordination of operator activities including managing time, attendance and defining schedules and priorities to meet output requirements in line with the Customer Requirements and Master Production Schedule Plan 
    • Work with Avionics Cell team to ensure quality and compliance of product 
    • Work with supplier quality team to follow up the corrective actions for quality escapes and material review board to reduce the non-conformance in the Cell.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Applicants should be studying towards an engineering or manufacturing operations based (or related) degree 
    • Applicants should be preparing to undertake a placement for their year in industry or in their final year of their degree course. 
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
    • Strong computer skills in general programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
