Job Overview
Italy Energy Operations is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Energy Surveyor to undertake predominantly energy inspections across the North of Italy.
This challenging role is varied, ranging from periodical inspections as required by Group standards and requirements including pressure vessels, materials (eg. castings, forgings, steel plates, pipes, etc.), equipment and components.
The role will include but is not limited to complete inspection enquiry documentation, clients’ technical and operational queries whilst assisting in developing and implementing relationships internally and externally to grow our business
You will be working independently with colleagues and clients relying on you as the ‘expert’; but with support as needed.
As an Energy Surveyor your role will be to perform at high standards in accordance with applicable Lloyd’s Register Rules and Regulations and other Codes, Standards or Conventions as directed; to report all inspections and surveys accurately, a necessary and with the required timescales in order to achieve the target Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) etc.
Candidates are required to travel and potentially work away from home if necessary, full home-office, company car, laptop, broadband & mobile phone will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected;
- Assume responsibility and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions;
- Assign, explain, direct, assist, and correlate the work of contractors when they are assigned to them;
- Work mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment;
- Use physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools;
- Climb and work at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position;
- Routinely react to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect Work.
Other tasks will involve: - to complete all necessary documentation and accurate reporting in a timely fashion;
- to propose solution or facilitate the resolution of problems encountered during any operational processes;
- to participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed;
- to maintain regular contact with all clients on a regular basis to disseminate industry relevant information and promote Lloyd’s Register’s products and services;
- to carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager;
- to support other offices if and when required;
- to analyze market needs and trends, and identify and deliver marketing strategies to support the development and implementation of strategic direction for the Area Business Managers at all levels.
Energy Surveyor Job Requirements
- Well educated with a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree may be considered.
Key points: - Approximately 5 years relevant experience in engineering, maintenance, fabrication or/and inspection;
- Ideally with International/European Welding Engineer qualification;
- PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Outlook;
- Commercially aware for the development of business opportunities;
- To be aware of Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures and local legislation too;

- Very good self-motivation and target-driven;
- Very good ability to develop relationships and work extensively at the executive level;
