Data Centre Engineers and Project Managers Job Description

Building on our long standing expertise of consultancy and engineering of mission critical facilities and data centres, ARCADIS is seeking to aggressively expand into the market. To support this autonomous growth, we are looking for several new colleagues to join our highly skilled team.

We are looking for both experienced senior profiles, as well as recently graduated engineers (Masters or Masters in Science). Where required, an intensive training process, both via external sessions as well as internal on-the-job training, will be implemented. After introduction into the ARCADIS Data Centre team and guidelines, they will soon be involved in real projects, with the required supervision and assistance.

Many, if not most of our projects are for clients and locations based abroad, in the greater European (or even EMEA) region. As such, willingness to undertake regular yet short (generallytrips of 1-4 days) trips is considered a plus or even a prerequisite for some profiles. 

Without question, a proficiency in the English language, and either Dutch and/or French, will be a requirement. German speaking candidates would also prove beneficial for a number projects.

• Task our engineers are charged with on a daily basis, include:Conceptualize the most energy efficient, state of the art data centres;
• Implement the required levels of resiliency, scalability, as demanded from the client;
• Take the concepts through the several design stages, present the tender package to the market;
• Proceed to the implementation phase, performing regular site supervision;
• Manage, lead, and specify the commissioning process;
• Perform audits and site inspections regarding resiliency, capacity, safety, energy efficiency;
• Maintain quality supervision and adherence to design standards where working in cooperation with local partnerships 

Data Centre Engineers and Project Managers Job Requirements

• Master in Engineering, or Master in Science of Engineering
• Specialized in one or more of the following:
  • Mechanical installations (cooling, …)
  • Electrical installations (medium voltage, 400V, UPS, generator, distribution, …)
  • Fire Safety installations (detection, suppression, …)
  • Security Installations (access control, CCTV, intrusion, biometrics, …)
  • Project Management (PM, Quality Control, Supervision, Cost Control, …)
• Experience: long term experienced profiles (Technical and/or PM), as well as technical engineers newly graduated, are invited to apply. For the latter, a base affinity with MEP installations (through master theses or project work) would be considered a starting point.
• Excellent communicative skills, able to converse directly with the client after the necessary training processes.
• Proficient in English and either Dutch and/or French (for applicants for ARCADIS Belgium). In addition, German is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of most standard IT tools
